  • What should I wear or bring to a session?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for working around horses. Bring water, sunscreen, and a curious mindset! All other materials and equipment will be provided.
  • What is Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL), and how does it work?
Equine-Assisted Learning is a hands-on experience where participants interact with horses in guided activities to explore personal growth, emotional well-being, and communication skills. Horses, being highly intuitive and responsive, provide immediate feedback that helps individuals gain insights into their emotions, behaviors, and relational patterns. At Sovereign Bandits, we tailor sessions to your unique journey, fostering growth and connection
  • What is Psychosynthesis and how will it be used in equine somatic facilitation at Sovereign Bandits?
Psychosynthesis is a holistic approach to psychology that aims to integrate all aspects of an individual's personality—emotional, mental, and spiritual—into a harmonious and balanced self. At Sovereign Bandits, we utilize psychosynthesis in our equine somatic facilitation programs to help clients embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. By working with the intuitive nature of horses, we create a unique environment where clients can explore their internal landscape, identify and transform limiting beliefs, and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and inner peace. This method fosters a powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit, utilizing the wisdom of horses to accelerate healing and transformation in a supportive and nurturing setting. Whether you're seeking to overcome emotional challenges or aiming for personal development, our approach promises an enriching and life-changing experience.
  • What Is the Difference Between Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT)?
The key difference between Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) lies in their goals, focus, and the professionals facilitating the sessions: Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL): Focus: EAL is centered on personal growth, learning, and self-development. It uses interactions with horses as a way to build life skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Goal: The primary goal is empowerment, reflection, and growth through experiential activities with horses. It’s about learning from the horses' feedback and applying those insights to life situations. Facilitators: EAL sessions are typically led by trained facilitators or coaches who guide participants through activities designed for self-discovery and personal improvement. These facilitators are not necessarily licensed therapists. Participants: EAL is ideal for individuals or groups looking to explore personal or professional development, enhance relationships, or deepen their self-awareness. Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT): Focus: EAT focuses on addressing specific mental health challenges or emotional disorders. Horses are integrated into a therapeutic process as part of a treatment plan. Goal: The primary goal is mental health healing, which may include improving coping strategies, addressing trauma, managing anxiety or depression, or treating conditions like PTSD. Facilitators: EAT sessions are conducted by licensed mental health professionals, such as therapists or counselors, who are trained in equine-assisted therapeutic modalities. Participants: EAT is best suited for individuals seeking therapy for specific psychological or emotional issues as part of a clinical treatment plan. In Summary: EAL focuses on growth and learning, while EAT focuses on healing and therapy. Both modalities harness the intuitive and nonjudgmental nature of horses, but they serve different purposes and involve different types of facilitation. Whether you're seeking personal development or mental health support, both approaches offer profound opportunities for transformation through the unique wisdom of horses.
  • What can I expect to gain from a session?
Each session is unique, but common takeaways include: Improved self-awareness and emotional regulation. Greater confidence and communication skills. A deeper connection with yourself and others. Insights into your personal journey and challenges. Most sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the program you choose. Group sessions or workshops may have different durations, which we’ll communicate in advance.
  • Do I need prior experience with horses to participate?
No experience is needed! Our sessions are designed for everyone, regardless of your familiarity with horses. Our team will guide you through each step to ensure a safe and meaningful experience on ground.
